Citizens inspire Citizen’s Services of Århus
(September 2007)
The panel of citizens connected to Citizen’s Services in Århus was in September invited to the Town Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to involve the citizens in decisions concerning Citizen’s Services. One of the topics was how to explore and develop Citizen’s Services in the new MEDIASPACE. Amongst other things Citizens Services are responsible for passports, driver’s licenses and health insurance and is thus an important authority, which all citizens of Århus will need to use at some point in their lives. It is therefore important to get to know the opinions and wishes from the users of Citizen’s Services.
The citizens and Citizens Services workers had an inspiring and giving discussion, which provided valuable information and knowledge to a future Citizens Services in MEDIASPACE.
The Experimentarium – workshop for children
(July-September 2007)
The Experimentarium – a workshop for children - took place in week 27. It was a week of citizen involvement for the youngest citizens. Through workshops involving different materials, printing and images, the children developed their visions for the future main library of Aarhus; MEDIASPACE.
In the Experimentarium the children came up with both innovative and funny ideas, which clearly showed that children have inspiring ideas and wishes for MEDIASPACE.
The many products and the film made by Plotpoint were later placed on view in an exhibition in the main library of Århus from the 11th to the 21st of September.

Voices of the City
(March 2006)
A process of citizen involvement was carried out in March 2006 in cooperation with Frit Oplysningforbund Århus (adult education) and Voices of the City. The purpose of the project was to gather the voices and opinions of the citizens. Which core values were important for citizens in connection to the development and services in MEDIASPACE?
An interactive table with various scenarios was developed and placed at the Main Library and in the Aarhus Art Building. Sound scenarios and the opportunity to record comments were built into the table. All visitors had the opportunity to speak to the table, thus stating their opinion.
10 focus group interviews were concluded around the table as well.
The voices of the citizens were analyzed and the results were incorporated in the seven core values of MEDIASPACE.
